Site Visitor Training

The free Site Visitor Training workshop is required for all CABC Site Visitors.

What do you get?

The workshop content focuses on the role of the  Site Visitor in the accreditation process, and we will cover or review:

  • The benefits of being a site visitor
  • The steps of the accreditation process.
  • The accreditation manual step-by-step, highlighting which paperwork is important for each site visit and the deadlines for each step.
  • The American Association of Birth Centers’ Standards for Birth Centers – and their corresponding Indicators, developed by the CABC to help site visitors determine whether a birth center meets each  Standard
  • The site visit weekend, covering what to expect and what is expected of you as a member of the site visit team.
  • A range of scenarios you may encounter in the accreditation process
  • What happens after the site visit is finished — your responsibilities, and what to expect from the Commission office.

When & Where?

This training is typically offered in conjunction as a pre-conference workshop at the AABC’s Annual Birth Institute each year, and at other times and locations as needed.
