“Excellence through Accreditation”

The CABC’s Excellence Through Accreditation workshop is designed to meet your needs.

The workshop content focuses on the preparation and time frames for the accreditation process.

We’ll walk you through the accreditation manual step-by-step, highlighting what paperwork is necessary for application and the deadlines for each step.
The workshop takes you through the site visit weekend, giving you a clearer picture of what to expect from your site visit team, including some of the specific things the site visitors will look at while they are at your birth center.
We will describe the decision-making process and how the results of your site visit and application materials are used.
Finally, we’ll review what happens after the site visit is finished — the responsibilities for the birth center as well as those of the Commission office.

The workshop includes:

A look at the advantages of birth center accreditation
A review of the American Association of Birth Centers’ Standards for Birth Centers – the standards upon which accreditation is based
A overview of the process and fees of accreditation
