CABC Welcomes New Commissioners
CABC warmly welcomes Susan Yount and Maria Petrie to the Board of Commissioners!
Susan brings a wealth of clinical, research, and teaching experience. She has worked most recently as the Director of the DNP Program and Associate Professor at Frontier Nursing University, as well as a midwife at El Rio Birth & Women’s Health Center in Tucson, AZ. She received a PhD in Nursing Research from the University of Arizona and an MSN in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Texas at El Paso. When asked what inspired Susan to work with CABC, Susan says: “The ability to help moms, babies, and families have a wonderful birth experience is of utmost importance. After years of being on the front lines, this still affords me an excellent opportunity to help make an impact from behind the lines.”
Maria shares with CABC her ample knowledge from the nursing, doula, and health policy analyst perspectives. She has volunteered her time in Nicaragua as part of a medical mission team and is proficient in Spanish. Maria holds degrees in both Nursing and International Affairs, as well as a graduate certificate in Cybersecurity. Maria is most excited about working with CABC because: “As a doula, helping parents access evidence-based, family-centered care was my priority. As a Commissioner with CABC, I’ll be able to leverage the skills I gained in consulting to bring that model to many more families nationwide.”
Thanks for joining us in welcoming Susan Yount and Maria Petrie!
